"O Colmenar da  Asubiada" Gondomar.

     A restaurant that I recommend for quality- price is the restaurant "O Colmenar da Asubiada" in Gondomar, near Vigo.

     It`s a big, old house restored with a cosy atmosphere. It has different private rooms for meals which cater for between 15 and 20 customers, so I would highly recommend it if you go in a group or with your  family. It has a big garden with tables where you can have a meal. They are ideal for eating outside  in summer.

     O Colmenar da Asubiada is a restaurant which specialises in prime meat dishes cooked on an open fire (grilled cod, meat ...). Its speciality is pork ribs. In my opinion, the food is very tasty with generous portions and the service is very friendly.

O Bodegon

Today, I want to share with you this fantastic place  “ O Bodegon “, It´s a mix between a beerhouse and a restaurant .  If you like beer, I recommend you to try the Strella Galicia “Cellar style” or the 1906 on tap - with every drink  the barman will give you a free “tapa“.

This restaurant also has a lot of dishes. I want to highlight two of them, the ribeye (chuletón) of ox and the sea bass (lubina) with potatoes. The ribeye cost around €32/kg; it can seem expensive but it is an explosion of flavor  in the mouth. The ribeye is served in fine layers and you must cook it on a heated stone. If you want an idea of the price, some weeks ago I went with my friends. We were four and we paid for two kilograms of ribeye and a loot of beers €23 per person.

O BEBEDEIRO

  Today I am going to talk about the best restaurant in Coruña, in my opinion. Where it is, what it looks like, the kind of food it serves, the price, of course, and why it is so special for me.

  In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in Coruña is O Bebedeiro. This restaurant is placed in Rúa Angel Rebollo 34, It is a place next to the city center, so It is an ideal restaurant if you are going out to party with your friends, because it is next to the drinking area.

  The restaurant is quite small so I recommend you to book a table in advance if you having dinner on weekend. It is a very popular restaurant and the best traditional Galician cuisine restaurant in Coruña, the menu is predominantly composed of all kinds of beef but you can also eat various types of fish and pasta dishes.

  The indoor decoration is very original and innovative, because old kitchen wares hang on the walls and the furniture is handmade with materials like wood and metal; as a consequence the atmosphere is very cosy.

  The service is excellent, the waiters are friendly and welcoming, in fact, the food is served quickly and always with a smile.

  The price is reasonable, because value for money is excellent in my opinion, maybe a bit expensive (25-35 euro), but all ingredients are top quality. I have no doubt that you will be satisfied.

LOS BOCATAS DE MARILYN

I recomend you one of the best sites to take something to eat in Vigo. Bocatería Marilyn have good food with a cheap price. They have a large menu of sandwiches that they are delicious.
You can go with your friends before to go to a party or to pubs because this restaurant it's near the city centre, in Canceleiro's Street.
The service is so fast and so pleasant! The decoration of the space is very modern and they put Marilyn's photos and pictures on the walls.You can go there on the bus if you don't live near.
They have  a lot of advantages, you have to prove it!

Fourteen kilometers from the University of Vigo in Gondomar is the restaurant Cervecería bocatería Yantar. The communication with this town by bus is very complicated because you have to travel using different buses (there is no direct bus). The best option is by car. You take the road PO-331 to 7 Pereiras Street, Gondomar.

The establishement is decorated with wood and stone so the atmotsphera is nice. One the most important things is they are always clean. The waiters are friendly and normally take the order and serve very fast.

In my opinion, the snacks (tapas) are the best option for eating because they´re bigger than the others and have the perfect bread. My favourite snack is roast pork (jamón asado) for €3.20 and my wife likes the squid snack for €3. You have other food, hamburgers, sandwiches, hotdogs, tapas, mixed dishes and pizza.

I recommend it because they use good quality ingredients in their products and they also have a good service and I think that it is the cheapest restaurant in Gondomar. A coffee costs €0.90, hamburger with cheese €2.80, a sandwich with cooked ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion €2.90 etc.

La Pepita Burger Bar

In la Pepita Burger Bar you can eat delicious hamburgers.

It is in Vigo, near Rosalia de Castro Street, in Oporto Street.

There is another one in El Corte Inglés.

In this restaurant, you can eat very different but very good hamburgers.

The hamburger “meat” is made with beef, pork, chicken, salmon, lamb and even spinach. 

all with different breads and ingredients such as rock lettuce;

different cheeses: cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, blue cheese, etc. And the

lettuce, tomato and onions are all cooked especially.

In the Pepita, they also have starters and accompaniments (side dishes) to take with your burger. In addition, you can eat delicious desserts, for example, brownies with ice cream. 

It is not expensive, because the quality of the hamburgers is good.  It costs around twenty euros.

The atmosphere is lively and the decoration is bright, spacious, modern and minimalist.

Those is one problem: you have to go with time to spare because you have to wait around thirty to forty-five minutes to get a table.

A lot of people know the place, including Erasmus guys.

Chilam Balam

Chilam Balam is a Mexican Restaurant located in Porto Street, near Rosalia de Castro and Arenal Street.

The menu consists of authentic and traditional Mexican dishes like taquizas, enchiladas or guacamole, which are prepared according to original recipes and are made with ingredients such as beans, chillies and corn, imported directly from Mexico.

It isn´t so cheap, but it's worth it. At midday, you can order a set menu for €12, which includes a starter, main course, dessert and drinks.

Its atmosphere is cosy and welcoming – maybe a little dark and very quiet -, and it has a small indoor garden decorated with Mexican paintings and cactus. This Mexican restaurant is a good choice for a romantic dinner or for you when you have a get-together with friends.

Bar el puerto

Its name is ``Bar el Puerto´´ but it isn´t a bar already, it´s a restaurant in Rosalia de Castro Street.

It has very good food. You can taste traditional food from the coast: seafood and a lot of types of fish, all of them are fished the night before. It´s very fresh!! You can also taste this incredible food with  good wines.

And the desserts are delicious, there are ``cañitas´´ with custard cream. You can not spot eating!

The dining-room is decorated in a very classical and the traditional style like the food. Inside you can see families eating, different groups of friends of all the ages, business lunches ...

Finally, the price is around €15.00.

A REGUEIFA GALICIAN TAVERN

A good restaurant for dinner in Vigo is A Regueifa. It's located in San Vicente street and it's five minutes from Puerta del Sol.

A Regueifa is one of my favourite restaurants because on Thursday you can listen to live music, while you're having dinner, and sometimes there is a group of Galician music.

This establishment is quite small, so reservations are recommended on weekends and holidays.

As you come into the restaurant, you see the tables and a bar where you can have some tapas. A Regueifa was the winner of "XIII Tapas Competition in Vigo" with its tapa "Fine pasta sack with ham and turnip greens, served in cocktail glass".

You can eat many local tapas like "Roast ham with potatoes" or "Spicy potatoes with garlic mayonnaise". I recommend it because of the high quality of their products.

CAFETERÍA ESQUINA

This bar is close to Praza América, in Avenida de Castrelos. It's only 200 metres on foot from Praza América. It's in front of the Travesas Pavilion sports centre.

It's a good place to go if you want to drink and eat spending a little amount of money.

With your drink, they always give you something to eat. It depends on the type of drink, if you have a coffee or something similar they give you a piece of cake or something sweet. Whereas if you drink a beer or refreshment, they'll give you some tapas.

You can eat from the set lunch menu during the week. The price is under €10 and includes a starter, main course, bread, drinks and coffee. If you prefer, you can eat a salad, sandwich or hamburguer.

While you are waiting for your meal, they give you a tapa.

It is not like a restaurant but the food is really good.

The service is good and the waiters are friendly.

You can eat at any time of day because it is open 24 hours a day.

AGACHA A TESTA

Agacha a Testa is a fast food restaurant. It is located near to Coruxo, exactly in Estrada Fragoselo, 316. The access isn’t easy, so you need a car.

They have a big variety of “tapas” like ham, cheese, chips with different sauces, Spanish omelette... Also, you can eat giant burgers, sandwiches and salads and it is very cheap; maybe you can eat a menu for about €6.

The restaurant has a really good atmosphere. They have a lot of young people because of the broadcasting of all the football matches, and especially the Real Club Celta de Vigo matches.

The waiters are pleasant. They are young boys and have a lot of tattoos. The restaurant is very dark. It is decorated with witches and it has a lot of real cats.

But if you decide to go, never forget your jacket because it is really cold there.

PAPARRA

Paparra is a fast food restaurant located in Fragoso, near to Plaza América. You can eat burgers, salads,hot dogs, sandwiches and you can also find low cost menus from €3.80. If you prefer, you can make a menu choosing the ingredients that you want. The price is very cheap; you can eat for €3!

The place is very small, there are only about ten tables and you can see the kitchen while the cook is working. There are always a lot of people so the place is noisy although there isn´t a TV.

The decoration is bright, because it has windows all along the wall next to the street, and there are a lot of things related to the automotive world, such as helmets, American license plates or photos of motorbike riders.

PAPARRA

The restaurant's name is Paparra, it is located in Av.Fragoso, near Plaza América.
It's a fast food restaurant. It has burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, salads and different dishes (chicken, bacon, pork).
The restaurant has a young atmosfere because it has very cheap prices. Every day of the week Paparra has some people, but at the weekend it is crowded, so it's very noisy, but you can order a takeaway.
The waiters are young and friendly.
The walls of the restaurant are decorated with American car number plates and posters of Motorcycle World Championship (Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa).
Paparra has a decoration which is a little bit traditional. It has chairs and tables made of wood.
