FIV - Festival Internacional de Vilalba (Vilalba's International Festival)

Hi! We are going to talk about the FIV Music Festival. FIV is an annual musical spring festival which takes place in the town of Vilalba, Lugo, Spain, which is about 177Km from Vigo and it takes 1 h and 45 minutes to arrive by car. It focuses mainly on indy, pop and electronic music. Nowadays it is one of the most important festivals in Galicia.

The festival begins on Friday and typically the concerts are on Friday night and Saturday night. A free of charge camping zone exists which is used by the persons who want to attend the two days and it opens on Friday evening until Sunday evening.

The festival is getting bigger and bigger and the organisors bring better groups each year. In the last edition, groups such as "La casa azul", "Delorea", "La habitación roja" y "The whip" participated.

This year, 2013, the FIV took place 22nd and 23th March and the cost of admission was €20 for one day and €25 for the whole festival.

The Morning Class

Marina Alcalde: I've always lived in a flat. Now, I'm living in a house and I have a vegetable garden. I'm learning to plant lettuces in my ecological vegetable garden. I love it! My mother can't believe it!
Paz Alonso: I like fruit and I like walking in the city and in the mountains. I have a cat. His name is Kiss and he drinks water in the washhand basin in the bathroom. I love cooking desserts for my family.
Nieves Ballesteros: I like dancing a lot, especially ballroom dancing. I am very happy when I travel. I like being with my friends.
Elisa Gándara:
Miguel Angel Piñeiro: I'm the tallest in my house. I spend all my free time playing with my son at fighting tigers. My wife is expecting a baby. She hopes that the baby will be a girl!
Nieves Rodriguez: When I get up, the first thing that I do is open the window to see what the weather is like. After I go out to buy bread for breakfast and the newspaper.
Raquel Salvador: I love going to the beach and being at home "alone". I have a pet called Machiño that loves playing football. Sometimes, I can imagine him smoking.

The Afternoon Class:

Sofía Alba:
María Canda: I work in the University of Vigo. I'd like to speak English, for that reason I do the course of English for PAS. I like reading and I also like to travel (of course, I need English).
María Dolores (Loli) Cuña:When I leave my home in the morning, I am very happy because I work at the University of Vigo, since my job is very interesting. In my office, I have a lot of contact with different people, students and lecturers. I like my job and I like the cinema and reading.
Rosa Fernández: I have worked in the University for many many years. I have never had an opportunity to participate in an English class. Now, I realise the little I know but I think it is very interesting.
Beatriz Mosteiro: I like walking in the forest, next to the river. I need to see the colour green. It helps me to relax. In Galicia, there are a lot of places far from the noise of the city.
Jose Manuel Pereira: I was born in Ourense. I like soccer. I have worked at the University of Vigo since 1994. I have lived in Ourense, Paris and Vigo for many years.
Jorge Pérez: Some years ago, I was visited by two persons. One of them was of a political party. He offered me the possibility of forming part of the electoral list. And the other person was from the party of the opposition and he also offered me the same!
