When the sun comes out again, in May, you´ll be able to enjoy a tasty and quite cheap beer
next to the sea, in the place of the blog´s photo, in the terrace of "La lua", "La vela" and another bar which are located together on a beach called "Los Olmos" before Samil, the most well known beach in Vigo. To go there, you can go by bus:
From the city centre, in front of the Mc Donalds located in Urzaiz street, crossing the road, there´s a bus stop where you can take the 15B (+10 min. after the hour) or 15C (-10 min. before the hour). You could take the Nº10 at about -25 min.before the hour where the shopping centre of "La Plaza de América" is or the 15A (-10 before or +20 after the hour) in Gran Vía street after the gas station in "La Plaza de España".
If you want to visit a free museum, there is one in Principe street, where you can also buy some very original presents for your friends and family inside.
The objective of this blog is to tell Eramus students a little about Vigo and Galicia in general. We are students from different parts of Galicia who are studying in Vigo University. We have in common that we are all learning English and so you must excuse any little hiccups you might see in the blog. We would like to share with the Erasmus students information that we think they might find useful. We welcome your comments and suggestions.

La Barrica
La Barrica's a bar to drink before going to the disco. It is located in the main Wine street (Calle Real), in front of the famous Egg Bar, (if you ask any young people where it is they will be able to tell you). The staff are friendly, helpful and so is the bouncer.
It has a large variety of drinks like beer, calimocho, sangria and a range of cocktails and cubalibres, and every Thursday they have the Estrella Galicia beer for only €1. You can also play table football and meet people. The people who go to this bar are young and friendly people.
The decoration is simple but nice, it has some things on the walls like pictures and guitars. The place is large but a little bit narrow, despite this the space is enough for all the people.
Finally, the type of music that they play there is rock an' roll and soft music that allow people to speak without having to shout.

Welcome to Vigo. Places for shopping
Welcome
to Vigo.
In this city there are many places to visit and many places where you can buy cheap and high quality items.
If you need fresh fish you can go to the Progreso market or Berbés market. The Progresos market is larger than the Berbés and more central. The Berbés market is the one with the best seafood though.
If you live near Plaza America you can go to the market in Coruña street or to the Traviesas market. The Traviesas market has more stores than the other market and it has more places to park than the Traviesas market .
Be careful, don’t leave your shopping in Vigo for Sundays because supermarkets don’t open on Sundays. If you want to buy vegetables and fruits you can go to Bouzas on Sundays. There is the best market to buy things on Sundays.
If you need clothes go to Príncipe Street. There, there are more shops than in the Shopping Center and it is more fun than being in a Shopping Center.
If you want to buy clothes you can go to Zara because it is cheaper than the Corte Inglés but it is cheaper to go to a market like Bouzas and buy clothes there.

Shops for students
Dear student,
This is my first year in Vigo, but I've spent some time shopping here so I have an idea of where you can shop. The main street for shopping could be Príncipe Street, where you can find shops such as Zara, Springfield, Pull&Bear and so on. If you continue along this street you will come to Urzáiz Street and you'll eventually arrive in Gran Vía Street, where El Corte Inglés is and some other interesting shops are too.
There are three shopping centers in Vigo: Gran Vía, Travesía and Príncipe, all of them are named after the street where they're located.
If you want to eat something in Vigo, you can go to the train station area. There are a lot of bars and restaurants. I think that the bars are very cheap, with €2 you can have a cold drink or a beer with some appetizer. Obviously, there're restaurants in the shopping centers too.
My favourite area in Vigo es Churruca, it's at the end of Gran Vía Street approximately. There you can find lots of student bars, clubs and some fast food restaurants to take a kebab or a sandwich if you're hungry at midnight.
I wish that you enjoy this city.
All the best,
Daniel Gómez

LOFT
Loft is the name of a night club located under Portugal square, and this location is similar to the other night clubs. In the Loft there are two rooms, one room has British rock music and the other has Daddy-Yankke music. The drinks are as bad as those of all the other night clubs. The Loft staff is friendlier than the Embassi staff. The customers are young people on Thursday and are older on Fridays and Saturdays. The bald bouncer is as stubborn as the other bouncers. The Loft is bigger than other night clubs and is the fourth biggest night club in Vigo.
